I know there is genuine concern about the swine flu. I live in Australia and caught a suspected case from my housemates back in August at the time due to the huge numbers becoming affect in Melbourne and the absence of a vaccine I wasnt given an option of taking something. Would I have taken it when my housemates were diagnosed - who knows.... To be honest it was a few days of hell and a week of not feeling up to doing anything rather than the deaths door situation people predicted.
So the flu is getting bad in Ireland and I've been researching possible side effects of the vaccine for my parents - I'm telling them not to get it here's some of the reasons why:
Untested - the vaccine was released after been tested on 240 people as opposed to the usual 1000's. To get an accurate prediction of side effects you need at least 1000 participants. Typically it takes a number of months even years to develop an effective vaccine but this was pushed through in less than 6 months - corners had to have been cut somewhere its inevitable - based on the time v's quality v cost theory.
Mercury & other potentially doggy ingredients - there is a high concentration of mercury in the vaccine which is deadly, it has been linked to everything from autism through to severe poisoning which can cause death.
There are a large number of medical professionals in a number of countries who are refusing to take it; even if you take half of them as people who normally wouldnt take a vaccine there is still too many people "in the know" opting not to take it to cause concern.
There are 1000's of cases of pregnant women who miscarried/went into early labour within days of taking the vaccine and people having very severe reaction after taking the vaccine.
I can take a few cases of people having severe reaction as being part of the course but not the numbers that are coming out. Look back to the 70's pandemic
Here are a couple of video's I've come across:

I'm not anti modern medicine but trying to ensure people make an informed decision so do your research - if you cant find anything on google message me & ill send you some links.

Cheat Day,
So today, Saturday, was my cheat day & I think it was successful!!!
According to the rules I could eat anything all day long so last night I was dreaming of a large pizza with my favourite toppings a mouthwatering chocolate desert with cream or maybe some handmade ice cream or a couple of kg of chocolate. So imagine my surprise when I wake up this morning not wanting pancakes but eggs and when given the opportunity to have the delicious mouth watering cakes you get offered with coffee in most cafes I didnt feel like!!!
So heres what my pigging out consisted of: On the way to the cinema (2012 - good movie lots of action but OTT when it came to the escapes of Cusack's character) we stopped for pizza I only had half a slice as I didnt really enjoy it & left the rest - I never leave pizza anything I cant stuff in in the first sitting comes with me for seconds or breakfast but I really really didnt want to eat it again so left it all behind - waste of money. Popcorn at the movies of course and on the way home a little treat of pick n mix - Usually I would buy $5 + worth of sweets and eat them in one go but today I selected 8 sweets (2 of the 4 I wanted) which I've dragged out all evening actually savoring the taste of each on rather than shoveling them down.
It appears that a lot of my severe graving have come under control thanks to cutting down the carbs - Its almost as if the carbs brought on all these cravings. I'm really enjoying being in control of what I want to eat and what I need to eat.

Inspiring stories - teenage millionaires
How many times do you face a problem and think its just too hard to even try - it could be anything but we all do right...
I've just come across a number of stories about awe inspiring teens who turn a simple idea into a million $$ company while at school juggling class, homework, sports, friends, social commitments & setting up a business. I'm not talking about isolated case there are hundreds of them from importing business furniture to web development these kids are committed and determined. Its like they dont know what fear of failure is or underestimate themselves like adults.

I think I need to take a leaf out of these kids books & just go for it - plan then execute right...
Or maybe when I grow up I could be like them!!!

My first ever blog - how exciting
Well hello there people
As this is my first EVER blog I'm a little excited so I thought I would give you some background on me...
So here a bit of background on me - I'm about to move to Sydney following the breakup of a long term relationship & after 2 serious ankle injuries have pilled on the kg's which I am now determined to lose...
Obviously the goal is to be one of those stunning tanned/toned girls running along one of Sydney's stunning beaches. I'm not sure thats realistic in the short term but a girl can dream right!!!
I'm enjoying what Melbourne has to offer before I head off and finding walking is enjoyable & therapeutic coupled with a cut down in carbs/chocolate (I ate WAY to much carbs before & could polish off a kg of pasta for dinner followed by a lot of choclate)
So far its been successful & I have lost 8kg in 3 weeks - great result but I'm conscious it could be a lot of water weight as the walking has only kicked in the last week & my weight loss has started to plateau.
Anyway till next time...
